Small Pumpkin Pouch

Pumpkin style draw-string bag.

  1. Yarn over, and insert your hook from the front, going around the front post of the next stitch in the previous row.

In contiuous rounds, using a stitch marker to mark each 1st stitch,

R2. sc inc. x8 [16]

R3. (sc, inc.) x8 [24]

R4. (2 sc, inc.) x8 [32]

R4. (3 sc, inc.) x8 [40]

R6. (4 sc, inc.) x8 [48]

R7. (5 hdc, inc.) x8 [56]

Continous rounds end.

Proceed in individual rounds:

R8. (sl st into back loop & 3rd loop, ch 1, hdc into same stitch), hdc back loop & 3rd loop 54, sc back loop only for the last stitch [56]

R9. (In both loops: sl st, ch 1, sc), (FPdc, FPdc, sc, sc) x13. End with FPdc, FPdc, sc [28 sc + 28 FPdc = 56]

R10-R21. 12 rounds: (sl st, ch 1, sc), (2FPdctog, 2FPdctog, sc [to prevent spiralling, ensure sc is placed into the stitch tucked behind the fp], sc) x13. End 2FPdctog, 2FPdctog, sc [ 28 sc + 28 FPdctog = 56]

R22. (sl st, ch 1, sc), (FPdc, FPdc, sc, sc) x13. End FPdc, FPdc, sc [28 sc + 28 FPdc = 56]

R23. (sl st, ch 1, sc), sc all around [56]

R24. (sl st, ch 1, hdc, ch 1), (skip a stitch, hdc) x26. End hdc, ch 1 [26 hdc + 28 chain spaces = 56]

R25. (sl st, ch 1, sc), (sc into chain space, sc) x27, sc into chain space [56]

Switch to green yarn:

R27. (sl st: complete sl st bringing in green yarn, ch1, sc), sc all around [56]

R28. (sl st, ch 1, sc), sc all around [56]

R29-30. 2 rounds: (sl st, ch 1, sc) dc, sc, dc... end sc, dc [28 sc + 28 dc = 56]

Tie:

Green yarn and 6mm hook

Chain length required for tie [app. 24-26 inches], feed between hdc & chain spaces of round 24

Leaf:

Green yarn and 4mm hook

Leave a tail of 3-4 inches, ch 4,

1st side: sc in 2nd ch, hdc, (2 dc, ch2, sl st)

2nd side: (ch2, 2 dc), hdc, sc.

Leaving a long tail of 3-4 inches, cut and FO: sew tail up the spine of the leaf.
